From Storage Room to Cardinal Conclave
The Cardinal Conclave project started last school year. The PTA allocated $5,000 to renovate the teachers’ lounge aka Cardinal Conclave.
The Cardinal Conclave is being redesigned out of gratitude to our dedicated faculty and staff. The project, financed by the PTA, is being championed by Principal Michelle Poirier with direct support from Assistant Principal Rishi Lal.
Formerly the textbook storage room, the Cardinal Conclave is currently used as a copy room, serves as a workspace for teachers without dedicated classrooms, and functions as a break room. Informed by a survey, we learned from the faculty that a sink, full-size refrigerator, plants, and comfortable chairs would be welcome additions.
The team, Noreen, Robyn, Prima & Almut, got to work envisioning a more enjoyable lounge-like space. As of April, many elements have been designed and selected according to our budget, and a refrigerator has been donated.
The Cardinal Conclave transformation will take place this summer through combined efforts of the SCHS facilities and the PTA parent community. Our goal is to have the space completed prior to the start of the new school year. Please consider signing up for summer “work parties” to help paint, build out some of our ideas, or to donate plants for the vertical succulent garden
